• Employment history verification — confirming previous employers, positions held and relevant dates, including clarification of significant gaps or inconsistencies.

• Professional references — obtaining structured references from current or previous employers and, where appropriate, other relevant professional contacts.

• Qualifications and professional memberships — verifying academic qualifications, professional certifications, registrations and memberships where relevant to the appointment.

• Identity and right-to-work checks — confirming identity and eligibility to work in the UK as part of the pre-employment process.

• Directorship and corporate checks — reviewing relevant company appointments and publicly available corporate information for senior and executive appointments.

• DBS and criminal record checks — where appropriate to the role and justified by its responsibilities or regulatory requirements.

• Role-specific screening — additional checks tailored to the seniority, responsibilities and requirements of the position, including regulatory or financial checks where appropriate.
   

We take a proportionate approach to screening. Not every appointment requires the same level of due diligence, so we work with clients to establish which checks are appropriate for the role and ensure they are carried out professionally and discreetly.
